This Week's Fashion Statement (Tuesday, February 10, 2009)

Potty training Attire...

For the past couple months Mom and Dad have been taking me into the "potty room" and allowing me to "help". My big job has been to collect toilet paper for them and flush. Plus, we've been reading lots of potty books.

Glee on my face when Mom says it's time to go sit on the potty - I think it is SO awesome!

This outfit is one of four - all with leg warmers and a long sleeve shirts - too cold to wear short sleeves! By wearing the leg warmers, I can easily pull down my pull-up diaper to use the potty. So no hassling with pants. Pretty cool!

So far, things are going good. Diaper usage is down 50% so that's more money toward my college fund!

Check out my cool outfit! Shirt by Gymboree - purchased this past weekend at their clearance sale $9.99. Leg warmers by Knotty Leggs purchased on Etsy - four pairs for $10. Boots are on loan from Joseph - Robeez - free as long as we don't destroy them! Pull up diaper by Huggies - pack of 44 were $15 at Wal-Mart minus $2 since we had a coupon!

A rare photo of me with Mom! The kisses I get after sitting on my chair!

We'll keep you posted as to how it's going but Mom has declared there will be no published photos of me on my potty chair. We're hoping to be done by this time next year - this is the goal we are working toward.

Family Gathering...

Last night we had family over. It was so much fun to see all of Dad's sisters (three of my aunts), two uncles, Grandma & Grandpa, and my cousin.

Watching Baby Einstein with Grandma and Grandpa

In the tepee

Playing Superman with cousin Jamie (she came all the way from Virginia - she is helping Aunt Pam at the Special Olympics World Games - she knows sign language better than Marlie Matlin on my videos!)

My captive audience

Mom and I crashed after a fun filled day - I slept for 12 hours straight - we must have played hard!
Mom and Dad thank you for the good night's rest!

Thanks everyone for making the trip to our house. It was so nice to see all of you. I love you and hope we can do it again soon!

Fashion Statement for the Week (Saturday, February 7, 2009)

Photos for this week's fashion statement...

A rare close up of me - the blanket behind me was one of Dad's baby blankets - there are baseball players on it.

Here I'm sitting on "Dad's" chair. It was his favorite chair growing up and just before I was born Grandma gave it to us. I've just gotten big enough to get into it myself and rock on my own. So much fun...

Close up on me with BabyGap blue thermal shirt (Mom got it with a 20% coupon so about $8).

Rear view of pants made by Mom - note pocket in back (so Dad can tell which side is front) - my pants are uncuffed but Mom built in "grow cuffs" so they can be stylishly rolled up! Also a good view of the moccasins - these are Hanna Anderson size 5-7 so they should last a while - the leather soles are washable ($8 out of catalog on clearance).

Cool Park!!! (pun intended)

It's been pretty cold here. We're starting to get a little stir-crazy being inside all day. With that being said, my baby buds and I took a trip to a really cool park (we let our moms tag along, too).

It was super fun, but also super cold. We're looking forward to warmer days in the future. But at least we got out of the house!

Cruising the park - of course, I had to explore EVERYTHING!!!

More exploration...

En route to the slide - which I LOVED going down!

Brrrrrr - don't I look cold here?!?

Still feeling cold but I just HAD to ride the dinosaur!

Despite facing the sun, I was still cold in the swing.

Here are my buds and their moms: left to right - Ms. Caitlin, Joseph, "C", and Ms. CM

Joseph also seemed to enjoy himself despite the frigid temperatures.

Here Mom is trying to chase me down so we can leave - in the end I had to be carried away like a sack of potatoes.

I'll be going back there again - very cool park!

Morning Playtime...

Dad gets up with me in the mornings...

We usually start the morning by watching the sun rise:

Then on to a little playtime before breakfast...

I have been using my tepee as a hanger for my airplane.

Playing in my "fort" - you cannot tell from this photo, but the side of the box has a rocket ship on it.

And the PJs I'm wearing say "Little Captain" - see below.

Thanks, Dad, for making morning time a special time together.

1+1+1=Mega Fun!!!

This week my two other baby buds came to stay with Mom and me while their moms had some free time. I heard Mom mention something about her goal for the day to be controlled chaos but when all was said and done, we were a really good bunch of boys and she even had time to do some chores around the house while we played.

She mentioned that the hardest part of the day was taking a bathroom break but we had no issues all filing into the restroom and waiting why she did her thing.

Wow! Did the day ever go by fast - both for Mom and me!

Thanks, my dear friends, for a nice visit! And Mom thanks you for being such good kids for her.

Here are some highlights...

Featuring:

T-Rex - that's me!

Joseph - he's the oldest (but not by much) and the tallest (by a good 3-4 inches!!! We all look up to him!)

"C" - he's the youngest and definitely the most mellow - Mom calls him the "angel baby" - sometimes we forget he's around because he's so mellow! By the way, he's wearing the outfit we gave him for his birthday (Mom made his pants)

This was how excited I was when Joseph arrived - notice me running toward him. Doesn't he look cool in his guitar shirt and saddle top shoes?!? He definitely dresses the "hippest" of the three of us!

Here I am playing in my box/fort while "C" checks out the tent and tunnel.

Then Joseph and I went into the tent to see what "C" was so interested in.

Later we discovered how fun it was to throw things into the tunnel and chase after them.

Joseph thought the stacking toy was the coolest!

Do you think "C" was trying to tell Mom something?!? Don't worry, it's an empty carton of milk - Mom gives me such things to play with before they go into the recycling bin.

Mom hid my "doggie" in the cabinet - we were most delighted when we eventually found it - here I'm showing Joseph how to push the hand to make it talk. As you can see, there are more recyclables surrounding us!

Grandma and Grandpa gave me this Mickey Mouse balloon - I love it and play with it all the time. As you can see Joseph found it to be interesting as well. You cannot tell from the photo but he was actually showing me Mickey's nose. (We're both very interested in noses right now - it must be a phase we are going through.)

Joseph and "C" watched a little Baby Einstein while I took my nap - as you can tell, they like "Baby Wordsworth" as much as I do!

This sums it up!!!

MEGA FUN!!!

Fun with Auntie Terri!!!

Auntie Terri came over to play this past week - it was tons of fun!!!

We laughed and laughed. Mom said her face hurt from smiling so much!

We played my favorite game - ball!

Recently I've learned to get onto the couch. Mom and Dad have been trying to teach me to sit, kneel, or crawl but walking and running is much funner! Plus, it really gets a response out of any one watching - they immediately react when I start running on the couch - not sure why but it certainly makes me laugh!

Video from our play time - as you can see I play very rough and tumble. (If your speakers are on you can hear my screams of excitement as we play.)

Thanks, Auntie Terri, for coming over to play. I sure did have a great time and Mom appreciated the company.
