Tiny Bit of Trouble...

Last night we went over to Aunt S and Uncle R's place for dinner. They have lots of interesting things to explore and touch. It's tough to not be curious. I often like to look for souvenirs to bring home, particularly when on nature walks or when out running errands. Generally these things are leaves or feathers or rocks. Well, last night I brought home one of their decorations. The only problem, I did not get permission to do so.

When I came home and started to take my coat off I showed mom the cool souvenir I had - a little potpourri  pumpkin. It was so tiny and cute I could not resist. Alas, she and Dad were not too happy with me and calmly explained that taking something without permission was considered stealing.

I felt horrible. I was so sad I could barely speak. We talked about what I did and then called Aunt S and Uncle R and spoke with Uncle R. I apologized for taking the decoration without permission and said I would never do it again. I hope he could hear me as I was whispering on the telephone as I was too upset to speak in normal tone.

Then Mom helped me say a prayer of forgiveness after which I felt much better (see photo above). Mom explained that I was only in a tiny bit of trouble because I immediately told her what I had done and resolved the situation right then and there. Mom also said she was about my age when she took something from the craft store without permission and placed the puff balls in her red sweatshirt's front pocket.

I promised I'd never do this again and stand resolved to not do so, with Mom and Dad helping me stick to this, too. Thanks Aunt S and Uncle R for understanding and accepting my apology.

Lampy...

Toaster...

I love the movie "The Brave Little Toaster". It definitely has some parts that are scary to me but if I skip past those, it really is a beloved film of mine. Mom watched me play with an imaginary toaster the other day. No, not something that I was pretending to be a toaster but a 100% abstract nothing is there toaster. After that, Dad started searching for a pretend Brave Toaster for me. With it being a movie from the 1980's there is no regalia like there is for the Cars franchise. Reminiscent of Lil Sister and her favorite cat Jenny Linsky being from the 1950's. 

Well, Mom pulled out some old scraps of felt and made me a toaster. I adore it. So far it has gone everywhere with me, even into the toilet once (it was just water). The main body is made from an old felted sweater Mom upcycled. Yet another item she's used the sweater to create. Mom says it's really nothing great and the sewing is poor but I'm so happy. I've been coaxing her into making Lampy, Kirby, Blankie, and Radio but she's not sure she's up to that task...yet.

Don't Smile...

Just..

Snow...

I've been asking Mom and Dad for snow and it finally arrived earlier this week. My boots from last year still fit as does my coat (Mom bought with plenty of growing room). I did get some new used snow pants and they work great. I borrowed some gloves from Mom as I no longer wish to wear mittens.

I read in one of my Cars books about making a snow car. I often ask Dad about this and finally there was enough snow to make one. I insisted it have eyes.

Another Christmas book I read about Duck and Goose shows Goose making snow angels - this was actually the first thing I did as soon as I walked outside. It turned out great but I have been practicing inside on the carpet.

Duck and Goose also taught me about catching snowflakes and throwing snowballs - both which I enjoyed, particularly the snowballs. There are no photos as my aim is pretty deadly, particularly to a camera.

The snow only lasted about 12 hours which is rare around here. It was replaced by rain and now my snow car and snowman are gone. However, it was such a fun time and one I will talking about for a long while.
