Snow...

I've been asking Mom and Dad for snow and it finally arrived earlier this week. My boots from last year still fit as does my coat (Mom bought with plenty of growing room). I did get some new used snow pants and they work great. I borrowed some gloves from Mom as I no longer wish to wear mittens.

I read in one of my Cars books about making a snow car. I often ask Dad about this and finally there was enough snow to make one. I insisted it have eyes.

Another Christmas book I read about Duck and Goose shows Goose making snow angels - this was actually the first thing I did as soon as I walked outside. It turned out great but I have been practicing inside on the carpet.

Duck and Goose also taught me about catching snowflakes and throwing snowballs - both which I enjoyed, particularly the snowballs. There are no photos as my aim is pretty deadly, particularly to a camera.

The snow only lasted about 12 hours which is rare around here. It was replaced by rain and now my snow car and snowman are gone. However, it was such a fun time and one I will talking about for a long while.

On December 23rd

Listening to the video email Santa sent me saying I was on the "nice list". I was pretty happy to hear of my hard work.

At Auntie and Uncle's in front of their lovely Christmas tree. I was wearing my snowman sweater. I told mom I liked the ear muffs on the snowman. I've become interested in pointing out details about things and commenting whether I like them or not. This is an example.

December 24th -

Making gingerbread boys. This is one I decorated all myself. (Bebe Sister was more interested in eating than decorating so Mom and I did most of the decorating. I love the "Sweet Smells of Christmas" book which inspired me to ask Mom about making gingerbread boy cookies.

Christmas Day

First thing Christmas morning - I immediately saw the new scoot(er) Santa brought. It's a Lightning McQueen scoot.

Opening my stocking - a few more little things like an eraser car from Santa. These were opened just before I found Jeff Gorvette in the stocking - something I was MOST excited about.

After Dad showed me how the scoot worked I wanted to show cousin Dede my new skills. He did have to help steady me a bit.

On the evening of the 25th, Mom took this video interview of me. Dad is in the background helping Sister but you can still hear my thoughts on the day. I heard Rudolph's nose.

Four Year Well Check

Today I had my four year wellness exam.

Here are my stats:

Weight: 35.5 lbs (45%)

Height: 39.25 inches (30%)

Blood Pressure: 92/52 (within normal limits)

Growth has slightly decreased - may be related to steroid use this year. Hopefully, with my new asthma action plan, we will use less oral steroids and just stick with inhaled which is significantly less overall.

Initially, I was a little worried and feeling shy so I tried hiding under the exam table with Daniel (my special meow) and my new Tokyo Mater Car. However, once it was Daniel's turn to be examined, my shyness disappeared.

I took Daniel to get a check up, too. We weighed him on the baby scale and wearing his winter hat and scarf he was a whole 7 oz. His blood pressure was also normal (I helped check that) and the nurse practitioner who examined me also examined him. He was a very good patient. (This was also who Mom did her pediatric training with this semester so I know Daniel and I were in good hands.)

I've been focusing on trying new foods and drinking more milk. This has been one of my 2011 resolutions. It felt good to report my food repertoire had expanded and I drink at least 8 oz of milk each day. My umbilical hernia has shrunk significantly in the past year so no surgical referral is necessary. I see specialists for my asthma and strabismus and those are well controlled and closely followed. Bebe Sister was especially concerned for me during my exam which was totally fine and not scary. I did find the reflex portion to be kind of funny.

What I'm doing...

- Lots and lots of pretend play. At the moment it is mostly surrounding Cars but Thomas the Train is still a big deal, too.

- I talk a lot - mostly about Cars but I'll chatter about just about anything.

- I've started telling jokes. Currently, my favorite is "Knock, knock? Whose there? Babie. Barbie who? You want to have a barbeque?" or "Where do cows buy their clothes? Cattle-logs"

- I insist on privacy when utilizing the facilities.

- "Happy Birthday" is my favorite song at the moment.

- Daniel and Daniella are my most favorite "babies" and I have to sleep with them wrapped in my special blankets. They have many adventures with me and every night I detail my days events to them.

- I continue my reading, spelling, and Spanish studies. I am on the verge of full on reading. I can write my name with little assistance.

- I still take a daily nap usually about 2 hours.

- Favorite books: Toy Story books and Jenny Linsky Cat Club Books, and Sesame Street books (still little screen time and no computer games yet)

- Favorite foods: pizza, spinach, freeze dried strawberries, fruit snacks, dino nuggets, fries

- Favorite drink: tepid water but I will drink orange juice (with calcium) and milk

I was declared healthy and doing great. I was kind of sad there were no Cars stickers like last year (memory like a steel trap) but I was pretty happy with the soccer ball sticker and insisted Bebe Sister get one, too.

Birthday Highlights...

I had a wonderful birthday.

The day began with my requested breakfast of toast with butter.

After breakfast I opened my gifts from Mom and Dad and G&G. Note the classic Dad-wrapping job.

Then some playtime with my new toys followed by lunch (I requested wagon wheels pasta) and naps. Dad came to greet me during my nap time at my exact 4 year birthday date.

Then off to dinner at one of my favorite places - I chose the location. Dad took this photo of me on our way to the restaurant. Mom calls it my contemplative look. I was probably thinking about the Raffi song I was listening to.

Aunt Shelley and Uncle Rich were able to take a break from their jobs in time to join us. They brought this cool present with them.

Once we were back at home, we took the RC Cars for a spin. Luckily there are remotes for both Lightning McQueen and Mater so Bebe Sister was able to drive one, too.

As bed time approached and Bebe Sister was trying to sleep (when she was not getting out of her bed), we played a couple of rather intense games of CandyLand.

I'd say a pretty great birthday.

Four years old is off to a good start.

Last Day...

As I write this, it is my little guy's last night as a three year old. It is the last time I can say I have a 1 year old and a 3 year old.

Four years ago I was experiencing incredible pain at home laboring. The 56 hours of labor and 42 weeks of pregnancy was completely worth it. With 14 people in the labor room assisting - including a very special nurse - our little guy made his grand entrance. It was the hardest work of my life but worth every moment. How happy I was to finally meet him and that he was declared healthy.

The past four years have progressed so rapidly. I can hardly remember life without him in it. I see photos of life before our son but it seems odd that he's not there or in them. I love his gentle spirit and early morning deep voice accompanied with snuggles. I love that he adores his sister. Best of all, though, is the special bond he shares with his father.

I marvel at this young man and pray daily that he will grow strong and healthy to an old age and do many wonderful things but especially be the man he wants to be. I just hope he knows how much we will always love him - no matter what.

Right now I enjoy being able to ask for hugs and snuggles any time and play cars and "just be" with him as I know all too soon he will be grown and gone and hopefully someday snuggling his own kids. For now, though, I am honored and blessed he is in our charge and so very grateful for the pure joy and happiness he has brought into our lives. It really is life changing.

On a lighter note, the almost four-year-old is much more relaxed and laid back about growing older. Here is an interview with him on his last day as a three-year-old. I have to say some of what he said was news to me.

Here are some photos of me as a wizard this year. As you can observe from the photos, I have this trick-or-treat thing pretty much down. However, I still felt a little shy right after I rang the door bell.

Alright for the really big news...

I now will eat some types of candy. Just a few - gummy bears, laffy taffy, and skittles - and only in very small amounts, but I will eat them. Here I am eating some of that taffy. However, Good Neighbors D&M had Pirate Booty and fruit strips - those were my most favorite treats. They even had a few fun tricks, too.

Pumpkin Patch 2011

Today we went to Mr. and Mrs. V's tractor farm where Good Neighbors D&M planted pumpkins. I picked out some pumpkins but I also had my first tractor riding/driving experience. After a little apprehension, I was amiable to riding or driving. Here are some photos as well as a very short video of my first tractor driving experience.

Library Time...

Every week, usually on Monday mornings, Mom takes Bebe Sister and me to the library. Ms. Tammie is the librarian who reads to us. I always look for her, even when we make trips to the library not associated with story time.

I usually sit with mom in the chairs at the back of the room. I guess I'm a little shy still. However, this past week, Ms. Tammie asked me if I wanted to sit up by her during story time and I was alright leaving Mom and Bebe Sister behind.

However, I did jump up a few times in the middle of story time to make some comments about the frog stories we were reading. Then after story time, I met the puppets used during the stories and Ms. Tammie said she was going to name one of them after me. I named the other one for her - Freddie Jr.

Soon, I'll start reading classes with Ms. Tammie but I have to be 4 years old. So, soon. But for now, I'll just keep going to ToddlerTales with Mom and Bebe Sister. My favorite part of story time is the end where I get a stamp on my hand. I always make Mom be especially careful not to wash it off the rest of that day.

Trains, Trains, and More Trains...

These days I will disappear for long stretches of time to play trains. Because Bebe Sister likes to pull the track apart I have to seek refuge in my room. The track in these first photos was found at a thrift store a couple years ago. Great find, Mom. However, I am getting to where I'd like a bit more sophisticated set up.

Dad had a train and some wooden track from his days as a little guy. He pulled them out of the garage storage area and we sat down to play trains after Sister went to bed. They fit my track and trains perfectly.

Thanks, Dad, for the new additions to my train set. Now Bebe Sister and enjoy hours of fun playing trains. However, I still like some quiet train playing time, too.

Here are a couple of videos of one of my longer train playing sessions. They are broken into two separate videos. Mostly, Mom and Dad wanted to post these so I could watch them whenever I wanted. If you are at all familiar with Thomas the Tank shows, it's kind of my own version. One thing I've learned from the show is train speak. You'll hear things like, "James buffered up" or "And then he chuffed away". It's also a mostly British show so occasionally I say these things with a bit of an accent.

This is a very special person.

This is Nurse L. She was the nurse who brought me into this world. She worked so hard to help mom achieve the delivery she wanted. She has been so kind to stay in touch with me. We met up with her and her kids at the park yesterday. It was great.

Thank you, Nurse L. We are so glad you were our nurse 3 1/2 years ago.

It's been a while since I've updated. Mostly because Mom has posted lots of photos of me during Dad's stay-cation. However, I did want to put up a couple of updated photos of just me so you can see how I'm growing.

I really am growing and growing and growing. And Dad says my speech becomes more eloquent every day.

I am a non-stop chatter box. If I see you I will most likely stop you to say, "I have a giant Lightning McQueen. Do you want to come to my house to ride it?" That gift Santa brought last year still has me enthralled.

I've been working hard on my Spanish this summer and regularly mix my English and Spanish words. Even Bebe Sister has started picking up words like "gato" just by hearing me say them. Sometimes I have to remind Mom what a word means.

I still love Cars and Lightning McQueen and Mater. Thomas the Tank is also becoming a favorite, too.

Library time is still a favorite weekly activity. I especially enjoy seeing Ms. Tammy read stories at the library. We haven't missed a single story time this summer.

Mac N Cheese is still my favorite food along with pizza. Mom has been having me eat spinach and blueberries at least once a day and those are also becoming favorites. I still won't eat sweets except gummy snacks and occasionally Skittles. I'm more into salty foods like Pirate Booty. However, I have been doing good trying new foods and Mom is relieved to not have to cook something separate for me as I am now eating what everyone else eats.

So, there's a bit of an update along with some current photos. I hope to be back soon.

Fourth Fireworks...

The idea of 4th of July fireworks sounded good to me. Especially since I had a friend coming over to share his with me.

However, after seeing the first one go off, this was my reaction.

In the end, sparklers were the only thing I would go for.

Mom and Dad are totally fine with this. They have not spent any money on fireworks since they've been married and hope to not have to start any time soon. Oh, Bebe Sister was happy to snooze away.

I ran a high fever for most of last week. Then it turned to a rash. Actually, that made Mom and Dad feel better about my fever because for a bit they were quite concerned it could be something more serious.

This past week I had a wonderful opportunity to meet a red tail hawk up close. I was very still, quiet, and well-mannered.

Look at those talons on her - very sharp. She is just a "beautiful pájaro" (bird).

Our friend is a raptor expert so he can introduce me to interesting things like this.

Penguins...

My favorite exhibit at the zoo is the penguins. I love them. I have a pretend penguin pool with little penguins that I feed. I love it. I ask Mom and Dad all the time if I can feed the penguins at the zoo. And they say it might not be possible but we do still visit the penguins.

Well, yesterday on our trip, the penguin pool was empty. There was no water for them to swim in. And because of that, most of the penguins were in their beds relaxing.

I went to the glass and sat down. Before I knew it, one came up to the glass for a visit. Her name is Trixie.

Second Trip to the Dentist...

Today I had my second official visit to the dentist. This time I was much more open to having my teeth examined and cleaned. I even let my hygienist, the same one I had last time, polish my teeth. I chose vanilla flavor - like the flavor of yogurt I often eat in the morning.

At bed time, after prayers, Dad sings me songs. We sings about all sorts of stuff. Usually, he sings about our adventures. Once about a year ago, we went to the elementary school to play at the jungle gym. While we were there, some kids were lighting off a rocket. I talked about that for months. Still do. Well, Dad promised we would go to his favorite hobby shop - HobbyTown USA - and we would get ourselves a rocket, build it, and light it off.

Today, we took our first trip to HobbyTown USA. I was very impressed. There were lots of different kinds of rockets. However, I was unable to decide which I wanted. Therefore, I opted to wait and come back.

Don't worry, we'll be back. Many, many times. And when I do pick out my rocket, there will be plenty of photos.

This past weekend we went to the downtown farmers market. In the plaza there is a fountain. It was so much fun splashing. Initially I was a little hesitant. However, after Buzz Lightyear took a turn, I was not affair in the last.

Me: Um, does that mean I have to stop taking my Gummy-vitamins?

Me (holding up a toy to Mama): Is this a choking hazard? (I'm quite obsessed with ensure there are not choking hazards for Bebe Sister.)

Me: What's going to happen when Bebe Sister turns into a Sister Bear - who will be our Honey Bear? (Referencing Berenstain Bears - there's Mama and Papa Bear, Brother Bear, Sister Bear, and Honey Bear - Honey Bear is the baby. I lovingly call Bebe Sister my Honey Bear.)

Mama: I don't know, Sweetie. You know, some day we won't have a honey bear.

Me: Can we get another honey bear then?

Mama: We'll talk about that in another year or so.

During lunch time:

Mom: Honey, a storm's coming.

Me: Is it a giant storm? (I don't like storms so Mom warns me in case I get scared.)

Mom: No, a small one.

Me: Like a baby storm.

Mom: Yes, like a baby storm.

Me: Does the storm's mama love it?

Mom: Yes, probably.

Me: Is it okay if I don't?

Mom: Yes.

Me: Does the storm have eyes?

Mom: No, it's made of clouds.

Later during the storm:

Me: Is that an airplane?

Mom: No, that's thunder. It's kind of the storm talking to us.

Me: Like Chick Hicks' thunder? (referencing a favorite car in "Cars")

Mom: Kind of. The clouds are full of lightning and when it flashes it makes thunder.
Me: That's like when you shock me with static?

Mom: Exactly. I think I fed you too much fish oil. Let's go read before you ask a question I don't have an answer for.
Me: Mom, does the storm have choking hazards?
Mom: No, I don't think so?
Me: The hail aren't choking hazards?
Mom: I suppose, maybe.
Me: Then we shouldn't let Bebe Sister see the storm?
Mom: Most definitely not.

Allergy Appointment...

This past Friday I had an appointment with Dr. J, my pediatric allergist. Mom has been conerned that I have a milk allergy because when I started drinking it my eczema became significantly worse.

Because Mom often practices pediatric exams on me, I have become quite good at sitting still for them. Dr. J said I was an excellent patient - especially through two panels of skin scratch testing. Which to be honest, is not bad at all. Especially when I get to blow bubbles and play with my toys.

What was interesting is everything came back negative - even dog. However, the last time I was tested the dog allergy was picked up via a transdermal test not scratch test. Therefore, likely it is still positive. And a negative skin test here does not necessarily mean I am not allergic to milk. The autoimmune response that mediates an allergic skin reaction is a bit different than other types. So, we're going to keep me off milk one more month. Then we'll reintroduce milk. If the eczema flares up again, we know I am allergic.

A very pleasant time. We made time to see the fish. There were four fish who had died. That was a challenging conversation for Mom but appropriately timed for Easter. More on that later.

A successful exam. We'll just see what the next couple of months bring. In the mean time, I'll continue my morning coconut milk yogurt for breakfast - not too bad, actually.

Eye Appointment...

On Monday I went to the eye doctor for a recheck of my strabismus.

I have been wearing a patch on my right eye (dominant eye) for 1-2 hours every morning the past 8 months. In addition, I was also given a stronger prescription for my eye glasses at that time, too.

Since the very beginning when I first saw Dr. W, I have made amazing progress. The vision in my weak eye has gone from 20/600 to 20/30.

At my last appointment 4 months ago, it was 20/60. She was most pleased with the progress I've been making. In fact, I do not have to go back for another 5 months.

Mom and Dad told me they are so very proud of the work I've been doing to improve my vision. I love wearing my glasses and ask for them first thing in the morning. If they did not fog up, I'd wear them in the tub, too!

Plus, it's just nice to be able to see. We are all most grateful for modern technology, medicine, and divine intervention, too. All things that have made it possible.

At breakfast this morning (Mom and I discuss our day every morning)...

Mom: Brush our teeth.

Me: What are we going to do after we brush our teeth?

Mom: Do chores.

Me: What are we going to do after chores.

Mom: Run errands.

Me: What are we going to do after errands?

Mom: Play.

Me: What are we going to do after play time?

Mom: Eat lunch.

Mom: Have nappies. Do you want your nap?

Me: Yeah - I think I'll be ready for nap time especially after errands.

Easter Project...

Just a simple Dollar Store craft project - something Mom found for occupying my time while she worked on a really big cake. (She'll tell you more about that next week!)

By the way, I am feeling about 90% better. My cough is still lingering but I'm doing well. Still taking my breathing treatments but only once per day. And today at the library Mom found me a Spanish video to watch, too.

Illness - Round 2 Update

I am still recovering from my illness - sinus and ear infections. However, my cough is the worse. I keep telling Mom and Dad to "make the cough go away". And we are trying.

In the past week I've seen two different health care providers and Mom has been in contact with my allergy/asthma specialist. After she spoke with Dr. J, I exclaimed, "Dr. J is THE MAN." He seems to always get me fixed up. This illness has been a bit tougher.

We're trying to avoid the antibiotics. But I have taken 3 days of oral steroids along with my inhaled steroids and a dual nebulizer treatment of atrovent and albuterol (DuoNeb). Slowly but surely I'm getting there. At least I can sleep through the night again.

When I'm all better, though, I do have to go in for allergy testing again as it seems I might be allergic to milk. Maybe I was trying to tell Mom something by not liking it all these years!

Last week when Dad was on vacation, we took our very first family trip to the library. We attended story time. I was SO excited when I heard the topic of the week was...

DINOSAURS!!!!

I had a great time - a little bit overwhelmed by all the singing.

And even Bebe Sister sat quietly for about 20 of the 30 minutes. After story time, the librarian gave us a stamp on our hands. I was a little sad, though, when I came back to the card and noticed I had washed off my stamp when I washed my hands.

Before we left I picked out some books for myself and Bebe Sister which I checked out with my very own library card. They even had a book about Doc Hudson from Cars!

Tortuga Sitting...

Cousin Dede is away at a baseball tournament. He asked me to watch over his tortugas (translation: tortoises). Mom and Dad say that maybe when I'm older and bigger I might be able to get a pet like this. They are pretty low maintenance, quiet, not too smelly, and kind of prehistoric. They are also really tough. However, Mom and Dad both taught me how to give gentle pats.

This is Roger (forward) and Echo (rear). They are both Russian tortoises. And both were rescued from the Humane Society. Echo is still a little skiddish and will hiss on occasion. Roger is much more outgoing. Both are surprisingly fast, too.

Mom and Dad have found me several times spying on them while they eat, sleep, or dig. Once they even found me standing on top of my cozy coupe but they were too frightened to grab the camera for fear I'd fall into the tortuga encounter area.

Mom did let me go for nap late one day so I could watch them eat. Roger really loves his veggies. He is also really into bath time, too. None of us realized how much personality these kinds of pets could have.

Highlights from our trip to the zoo today...

We are standing at the same level - she is giagantic!!! Mom said she was kind of scary.

Every time I go to the zoo, I set on this tiger. Either it's shrinking or I'm getting bigger!

Today the penguins were the big hit - maybe because it was so cold and it was warm inside this exhibit or maybe they were just a little more animated than usual. I kept saying, "This water is digusting." Maybe time for a tank cleaning?

In the past couple years, I've become braver and braver on this slide. Check me out.

Something that was especially impressive to me were the lions. They were not yet out of the cages and running in their encounter area. But I could hear them roaring to come out. My rationale - they needed to go potty and were voicing their unhappiness.

Here's an interview from my trip to the zoo. It was quite cold and Mom, who was taking the video, had Bebe Sister in the pack. In order to keep her quiet during the video she had to keep swaying. It might also explain why I'm a bit soft spoken, too.

Mall Playtime...

Our local small city mall has just become a lot more friendly for kids my age.

Here are some photos. This holiday season no gifts were purchased from the mall. However, we did very much enjoy the new play structure inside! We'll be going back - after the holiday rush is well over.

And here I am looking at the reindeer surrounding Santa's area. I thought they, as well as the moving "Frosties," were "very cool".

Hopefully, all the shopping is done because tonight, I'm heading to bed early to await Santa's arrival!!! I'm pretty excited this year. It's all just seemed to click and now I understand.

Mom has threatened on more than one occasion to call Santa's assistant and report a naughty T Rex if I don't behave. In the end, no calls were made. But I'm not sure how long she can keep playing the Santa card after the big day has past. Time will tell...

This week I wrote my letter to Santa and then stopped in for a visit.

I had just come from a long appointment with the pediatric opthamologist, hence my eyes are dilated. (A good check up but I need stronger lens to go in my new frames.) This was the exact scenario as last year. Except, this year, I was ready and eager for my visit.

Another photo from my visit. To the left you can see Bebe Sister looking on. Mom and Dad did not have her sit with him. She had already missed her morning nap and was very hungry so we did not want to disturb her still happy nature. However, I did ask Santa to bring her a "baby doll". And I even took a couple of Cars with me to show Santa the kind I was wanting. He even suggested a couple of other items to add to my very modest list.

There were also so really cool decorations where Santa was at. This reindeer one was of utmost interest as were the snowmen around the area.

Decorating for Christmas...

First, I had to look over all the tree ornaments while Dad put lights on the tree and Mom put Bebe Sister to bed (I earned the privilege of staying up a little late). I went through the entire box of non-breakable ones but yet still managed to break a few of the more "fragiles" - pulled off eyes or smashed legs.

Then onto actual decorating of the tree. "No higher than one step" - I think I can still hear Mom and Dad's voices echoing in my head.

Hanging the 90+ year old angel - I LOVE angels. It must have something to do with a certain book we've been reading - The Cat Who Climbed the Christmas Tree.

I have a little tree of my own for my use and amusement so I don't get into the ornaments on the big tree. Here I am hanging candy canes on it. Yes, I'm wearing my Buzz Lightyear jammies.

Here are a few other of the decorations that are just for Bebe Sister and me. Frosty is a favorite as is Woodstock "with muffs" but he's already managed to escalate to bedtime status so he's not in the photo below. Can you see my Cars are in the mix, too? We've been reading "A Cars Christmas" - a definite favorite.

Three Year Well Check

Yesterday I went to see the nurse practitioner. I was very excited to go and get my check up. Mom has been practicing health assessments on all of us in the family to prepare for her final exam. Plus, I have my own medical kit which I also regularly use on Bebe Sister or Grandma and Grandpa.

If you'd like to compare, here are my two-year old well check stats.

T Rex Stats:

Weight: 33.5lbs (60%) - I had a lot of clothes on so this is not the most accurate

Height: 37.25 inches (50%)

Blood pressure: 92/58 - within normal limits

What I'm doing:

Mom's been doing my preschool lessons here at home while Bebe Sister takes her morning nap. For 1-2 hours each day, we work on Spanish, reading, spelling, math, shapes, music, and art. My Spanish vocabulary grows more every day and sometimes I mix my English and Spanish.

I've also started doing some reading. Mom's teaching me phonics and since I know the letter sounds, I have been learning to sound out words. Plus, my favorite SpongeBob books are also phonics based so I enjoy reading those, too.

I know all my shapes but now I can tell you the name and color in Spanish, too.

We've also been working on some simple subtraction and addition - nothing past 5 yet. Although, I can count to 99. But I can only count backward from 10.

I enjoy sitting on the piano and singing along while Mom plays.

And I like a good art project but it has to incorporate my cars if it's going to maintain my interest.

Favorites:

- Songs: Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, Twinkle Twinkle Giant Luna (Mom made this one up), Five Green and Speckled Frogs, Down at the Station, Animal Crackers in my Soup - we do a lot of singing around here (no TV and 1-2 videos/week). And often, Mom can get me to eat all my food by promising to sing "Five Green and Speckled Frogs" really fast.

- Foods: these are virtually unchanged from last year but I now love waffles and French toast, too.

- Still will only drink "tepid" water. No juice, cold water, or milk

- Favorite characters: Toy Story (Buzz Lightyear) and Cars (Lightning McQueen)

- Favorite Books: Now I read "Good Night Moon" to Mom and Dad. Plus, most any other books, but especially SpongeBob ones or Cars ones.

Miscelaneous:

- Still taking one nap daily 1.5 hours to 2 hours.

- Asthma continues to improve. Now only using albuterol as needed and antihistamine once daily.

Nurse NM declared me to be healthy and was impressed with my manners while being examined. And the best part, I got a new Cars sticker when I was all done!

Rocket Launcher...

One of the super cool gifts I received for my birthday. It launches up to 100 ft. We can launch a rocket the entire length of our house. When the snow melts, we'll hit the park and then see how far we can get it to go.

First Trip to the Dentist...

Today I made my first visit to the dentist. My dentist is also one of my favorite people - Uncle Doc.

Here he's counting my teeth. My job was to hold the mirror while he did so.

Here my hygienist gave me a demonstration of "Mr. Thirsty".

Because Mom and Dad had been reading me "SpongeBob goes to the Dentist" I was totally prepared for my visit and it was a most positive experience. Plus, it helps when your uncle is also your dentist!

This is my recent Thanksgiving art project. We've been trying to do at least art project per week (outside of stickers - Mom says this is not really art but I think so). I've been asking her to make a turkey or "pavo". This is what we came up with...

Mom rates this project as very, very messy. I rate it very, very fun! We used an old paper grocery sack to make it. We purchased the feathers at the craft store. We are still finding feathers even though we vacuumed everything including me!

I love helping Mom with the laundry, here is one of my earlier helping sessions.

I think I enjoy it mostly because I really enjoy play time with the laundry baskets.

Snapshot from my morning Spanish lesson... Mom has been working with me for a little while now and nearly every morning we have a lesson. It's a fun time for both of us. I'm developing quite the vocabulary - close to 100 Spanish words.

And during the day I will randomly state "Daddy trabajando" which means Daddy working. We're getting there.
